After the gig in Manchester on Friday night and the new album, I've been on a bit of a crazy EDITORS obssession. Soooo I was extreeeeeeeeeeemely chuffed to bits when I found out that they will be touring again in March 2010... and even more excited when I found out they will be hitting my home county and playing the not-quite-so legendary Leas Cliff Hall on the South East Kent coast in Folkestone, before playing London Brixton the next day. I have tickets (thanks to my Dad) for both!!
WOOOOOOOOOOP!

I am also rather flippin excited about this coming Monday, as I am off to the Barbican to see our beloved Guillemots play a 15 minute collaboration with Penguin Cafe Orchestra... Matthew Herbert is headlining so my craving for Orchestras will get a bit of a hit!!

I also went to see Editors at Manchester Academy on Friday (with Laura, Kyle and my friend and workmate Rehanna). It was excellent.
Vids can be found on my You Tube channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/pkgem along with a Dead Weather vid from their Manc Academy gig I went to on Monday. Over the weekend, I shall upload my Noisettes vids from their Manc Ritz gig on Tuesday which was amazing!
I also saw Simon Amstell at The Lawry, Salford on Saturday and Michael McIntyre at the MEN Arena on Wednesday night.

All in all, I had a fantastic week of gigs following on from my birthday - I never was one to limit my celebrations to a single day  Wink

Next Monday - LOS CAMPESINOS! Yay!!!

Seriously, I've been to a lot of concerts, and the audience at last nights Editors concert was one of the worst audiences I have ever been a part of.

It was a night of the living dead, had Halloween come early?

But the best part of the audience was getting out, a group of around 5/6 people decided they were going to block one of the doors to hug goodbye to each other causing a build-up of people.

On the whole the band were pretty good, even with wearing ear-plugs (I f**ked up my hearing last week at Ash, the doctors said to wear ear-plugs at concerts), the new songs being awesome live, just a shame about the rubbish crowd.

(yeah, I posted the same review on the editors forum as well)

That's a shame. Not so at the Manchester gig. See my Papillon video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sP_bFCx8w8Y I turn my camera to the crowd during the chorus - that audience is not dead on it's feet!  Tongue

Los Campesinos! was awesome. An almost perfect gig - caught up with an old friend over food and drinks beforehand - good and entertaining first support act - ok but also entertaining second support act - LC! themselves were brilliant with loads of inbetween song chat as well as Gareth going into the audience from the band and immediate singing along from the audience followed briskly by dancing and jumping and hand thrusting. At least at the front where I was. It was a small gig too - MDI only holds 260 people. After the gig I bought merchandise and then got my photo taken with the bassist, Ellen who declared herself to be a "massive geek" (she's into vamps and werewolves and reads SFX) - I love her  Wink

I absolutely LOVE Friendly Fires. Almost on par with Guillemots! I SO wish I could see them sometime live. I've seen clips online that look fab.

Following lots of lovely spontaneous gig action this week, TOMORROW EVENING I will be in attendance at London's Bush Hall to see the lovely 7 boys that are Broken Records (there seems to be a bit of a BR buzz going on this evening). I can't wait to see them, Latitude seems a lifetime ago already. Will be fun, they are amazing live and are super friendly too, so will be saying hello. All makes for a happy Missy!  Cheesy

Watch me go click happy with my camera tomorrow night. Haha

Laura - hope you enjoy Broken Records tomorrow - not that I doubt you will.

Los Campesinos were again fantastic last Friday, even with them all being afflicted with swine flu! They still took to the stage and played a full, excellent set - only skimping when they skipped the "fake encore" stage exit and continued straight into the three encore songs. I have a vid up on my You Tube page... more vids to be uploaded this weekend.
