I've come to terms with it now, don't worry.
Wonder what title the album will have and exactly how soon we can hope to be able to buy it.
I think i should just stop getting excited about this development. It's not going to make it happen or be here any sooner!  Roll Eyes Grin

Guillemots singer Fyfe Dangerfield releases his debut solo album Fly Yellow Moon in Januray, PS can reveal.

It's made with regular Guillemots producer Adam Noble. The band are also making their third album.

The release has been on the cards and talked about since around August last year, as it was originally set for release in September. HOWEVER, the title is NEW NEWS!!

I wonder what is being planned for the "can be one of the first to hear it" part.... I'm on alert ala meercat...

I've been using my work contacts to try to find out which label its being released by.

I forget where but I'm sure I saw it's being released by Polydor again.

edit: Yeah, here we go, it's Geffen: http://newmedia.kcrw.com/tracklists/?channel=Live&host=Nic%20Harcourt&da te_from=2009-10-11

Geffen is more of a US label, associated with Universal.. Geffen will probs release it in America, it's more likely be Polydor over here, as per the Guillemots albums... But I could be wrong.

SO!!! www.fyfedangerfield.com

How pretty is the site!?? And Fyfe looks very cool in his suit - nice Smiley

So impressed with the photography and design for his new record - gorgeous (way more impressive than some of Guillemots stuff I think).

She Needs Me is certainly growing on me. I'm intrigued by Livewire - love Fyfe's vocals on it, and the stripped back sound. Very very different from the giveaway song Walk In The Room - I think it's gonna be quite a diverse album, but sure we wouldn't expect anything less from Mr Dangerfield.

Ahhh this is all soooo exciting!

P.S. When I bumped into Greig in London a few weeks ago, he was saying Guillemots new album is less pop and more alternative  - I must say I personally prefer Through the Windowpane and adore their experimental sound on Of the Night EP much more than Red, so I'm very excited about the prospect of a more experimental new Guillemots record  Cool

P.P.S. And the box set idea for Fly Yellow Moon is brilliant! Yey!

I agree - it is a lovely looking site.

I also agree on that the album is promising to be very diverse with the added bonus that all of the tracked heard so far are excellent.

Yeah! The site asks for suggestions as to what to add but there's already going to be an extra CD of songs - what more could we want!?

And with Los Campesinos new album being released in Feb, 2010 is already shaping up to be a great year in music  Cheesy

Fyfe's album is now available for pre-order on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fly-Yellow-Moon-Fyfe-Dangerfield/dp/B002USCGP2/ref=sr_1_ 1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1257550090&sr=8-1
Although I suspect most of us will be waiting for the special edition to become available on Fyfe's site. I'm gonna wait for the special edition for myself but have pre-ordered three single-CDs versions for friends.
